Online Data Backup Solution for DSM Customers

In a break from our theme of articles about the insurance programs, DSM would like to take the opportunity to announce that we now have an Online Data Backup solution available that is tailor made for DSM customers. Easy to install, it requires no additional hardware and it has a native client for the IBM server DSM customers use. Data is backed up to a Tier 4 data center that is SAS70 certified. For several years now DSM has reviewed other DR solutions but ran into the same problems with all of them which was primarily cost and excessive bandwidth requirements. This solution solves both problems handily:

• The Online Data Backup solution is affordable compared to the many solutions we have looked at (or we wouldn't be promoting it!)
• This solution solves the bandwidth problem by using a native i-series client to monitor changes in files and backs up only the changes, a method referred to as de-duplication. Compression drops the required file transmission sizes down even further.

Data is encrypted of course for HIPPA privacy compliance, no one can get to your data but you or DSM. DSM will provide monitoring of your backups so you don't have to.
